BIBBS, Jr., Mr. Arch O. - Age 92, passed away Wednesday, July 4, 2018 at his residence. Family hour 10:30AM Thursday, July 12, 2018 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 2109 Martin L. King Ave., with funeral service commencing at 11AM. Pastor Rodney Ellison, officiating. Interment Lovedale Memorial Cemetery, 5710 E. Bristol Rd., Burton, MI.

Brother Arch Oneal Bibbs Jr. was born October 8, 1925 in Flint, Michigan, the son of Arch and Era Imogene Bibbs. He graduated from Flint Northern High School and then went on the serve in the United States Navy from 1944-1946 in World War II where his job preference was Photographer. After his Honorable Discharge, he co-owned and operated Bibbs & Son's Interior Decorating and later attended Mott Community College where he obtained an Associate Degree of Business. Arch worked for Buick Motor Company, a division of General Motors as a Journeyman Painter and was a member of UAW Local #599. He met Dorothy Lee Wynne and was united in marriage April 11, 1953. Brother Arch Bibbs was dedicated and devoted servant and Trustee of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, where he served faithfully. He was on the Flint City Planning Commission, serving as Vice Chairman for six years, served on the Oak Park Urban Renewal from 1970-1982, and also a member of the St. John Street Original Old Timers. Arch was a Member of Eureka Lodge No. 16, Free and Accepted Masonry Prince Hall Affiliation for over 60 years. He was a Historian and the "Chief Advisor" and Counselor to All!

Brother Bibbs was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Dorothy Lee Bibbs; parents, Arch Sr. and Era Imogene Bibbs; sister, Era Imogene Bibbs; 3 brothers, Ulysses, LeRoy and Hezekiah (Georgia) Bibbs; 6 sisters-in-law; and 3 brothers-in-law. -- Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home
