Mrs. Elizabeth Franklin Ivester, age 84, wife of William Robert "Bob" Ivester of 138 Park Dr., Jonesville, passed away Monday, July 3, 2023, surrounded by her family at the home of her granddaughter.
Mrs. Ivester was born in Jonesville, August 23, 1938, a daughter of the late Jimmie Lee Franklin and Lois Sanders Franklin. She was a graduate of Jonesville High School and retired from W9Y construction in Spartanburg. Mrs. Ivester also worked for Edge Tax Services in Cowpens. She was a faithful member of Gilead Baptist Church where she had taught Sunday School and was a member of the choir. She was active with the youth of the church where she served as Director of the Nursery and volunteered with the RA's, GA's and Vacation Bible School.
Surviving in addition to her husband of 67 years, are two daughters, one son in law, a son, and his wife; a godson; and three sisters. She is also survived by two grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a grandson, SSgt. Jason Wilburn, a sister, Willie Rogers and two brothers, Bobby Gene Franklin and Joe Franklin.
A service to celebrate her life will be held at 3:30 PM Saturday, July 8, 2023 at the Holcombe's Jonesville Chapel conducted by Rev. Randy Burgess.
