"To Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Cardell a girl. (date of the paper was June 25 1932)
Then in Deming Headlight Aug 26 1932 the death notice:
"The two month old baby girl of Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Cardell died here Tuesday. Funeral Services were held Wed.
Graveside service only. No headstone.
The official cause of death was Summer bowel trouble, infection.
She is buried at the far back of the cemetery on right side of road that runs straight back to the back of the cemetery.

Doc tells that the church loaned the family a bus (because there were a lot of children) to go to the cemetery. I think Dock was working for the school, driving the bus. They held a graveside service only. I think Doc said that they built a litt le coffin for her. Doc said that they dug the grave themselves, and they couldn't afford to buy a plot...so evidently this was done without proper permission. But they didn't know what else to do.
When I called the cemetery, they had no record of a burial for Ursie, so I guess that is why they didn't have the record of burial.
The official cause of death was Summer bowel trouble, infection.
Lola says that Ursie did have a little metal marker (funeral home marker) on her grave, and that she is buried at the far back of the cemetery on right side of road that runs straight back to the back of the cemetery.
