"Mathew Garrett, aged 86, died at his home on Route 8, Andalusia, Tuesday. Garrett, a resident of Covington county for many years, was well known in this area as a farmer.

Funeral services were held at the Rock Hole church today with interment at Fairmount.

The deceased is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Leavy Smelley of Route 5, Mrs. Sara Kelley of Route 8, Miss Clemmie Garrett and Miss Estelle Garrett, both of Route 5, and Mrs. Lena Pierson of Andalusia; three sons, Henry Garrett of Route 1, Woodrow Garrett of Fall River, Mass., and Fonzar Garrett of Niagara Falls."
