Peter "Boyle" and Mary Herring were married on 12 March 1838 in Frederick County. Mary (née Anna Marie Hersperger) was the widow of George Herring, and elder sister of Catherine Hersperger. (No children from this second marriage for both parties.)
Peter Boyer's will (dated 28 Dec 1858) describes his 212 acres of land located 3 miles northwest of Jefferson. He died in January 1861, survived by his widow Mary, and by his six children (with his first wife Catherine).

According to an abstract from Equity Court Records of Frederick County, Maryland, Peter Boyer had a will dated 28 Dec 1858. He died in Jan 1861. The will names his widow Mary, and children Jesse T., John E., Ezra, Henry, Mary C. (wife of Daniel Arnold), and Cordelia J. Thomas. Executors were Jesse T. Boyer and Dewalt Williard. A 186-acre tract was sold for $7,758.60. His will stipulated also that any negroes born during his lifetime were to be sold at private sale and the proceeds divided among his children.
