Lillian was born on June 22, 1937 in Mitchell County, NC to the late Lynn and Hattie McClurd Buchanan. She was a homemaker for many years, a seamstress and provided care as a home health aide.
She is preceded in death by her husband, George Burleson; son, Barry Burleson; brothers, Millard Buchanan, Ralph Buchanan, Tarp Buchanan, Bruce Buchanan, Henry Buchanan, Denver Buchanan, Robert Buchanan; sisters, Maggie Butler, Edna Gilliland and Gail Wise.
Those left to cherish her memory are daughters, Joan Burleson and Lisa Wright; sons, Russell Burleson, Benjamin Burleson and wife Rita; grandsons, Jake and Zeb Wright, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Eddie Wise for the compassionate care given to Lillian.
Funeral services for Lillian will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, May 8, 2023, at Abee's Chapel Baptist Church with Rev. Tony Land officiating. Interment will follow at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, May 9, 2023 in Cane Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Bakersville, NC.
