On April 27, 1940, he married Lillian Ruth (Fraker) Hake, who died November 17, 2007. He is survived by a daughter, Sandy White and son-in-law, Donald White of Findlay, Ohio.
Lorne was the proud grandfather of Tara and her husband, Aaron Masek of Johnstown, Ohio, David and his wife, Colleen White of Ashland City, Tenn., and Donna White of San Jose, Calif. He also enjoyed spending time with his seven great-grandchildren.
Lorne was devout in his love for the Lord Jesus and his family. He was always active in his Christian faith serving in many different roles in the various congregations of which he was a part.
Lorne graduated from York High School in their machinist program and had a long career working for the U.S. Navy in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, and Allis Chalmers and Harley Davidson, both of York.
Over the years, he also sold real estate, was employed by Sears Roebuck and Co., and drove a taxi cab.
After retiring for the third time, Lorne moved to Findlay and became active in the community. He was a charter member of the Hancock Christian Clearing House and the Millstream Woodcarvers. In addition, he was a member and officer of the National Assoc. of Retired Federal Employees Chapter 2278.
