Juan Marcos "Mark" Archuleta
June 25, 1929 – June 5, 2022

EAST CARBON - Juan Marcos "Mark" Archuleta passed away on the quiet and peaceful morning of June 5, 2022. Mark was born on June 25, 1929 in Petaca, New Mexico to Juan and Manuelita Archuleta. He grew up in New Mexico and started his career as a "Railroad Man" at the age of 15. Mark joined the Army in June of 1951 and served his time in Korea before being honorably discharged in August of 1956.

Mark married his lifetime sweetheart, Orcelia Gallegos on January 23, 1954. Together they raised six boys and many grandchildren. After his time spent in the Army, he went back to work for the Denver and Rio Grande Western Railroad, where he spent four decades.

Dad was an avid Denver Broncos fan and he shared his love of all sports with his family. He also spent time working in his yard. Right up until three weeks before his passing, he was out mowing the lawn.

Dad always gave everything; he did his all, and he was always the last one to leave a job site. If you could not find him at a job, he would be helping those in need with a helping hand and a friendly smile.

Mark is survived by his wife, Orcelia, of 68 years; sons, Lynn Archuleta, East Carbon, Utah, Dennis (Debra) Archuleta, Orem, Utah and David (Kris) Archuleta, Santaquin, Utah. Mark and Orcelia helped raise many of their grandchildren the last one in their later years was granddaughter, Cecilia Archuleta "Sissy." Also survived by his siblings, Alfonso, Denver, Colorado, Priscilla (Juan) Sanchez, Denver, Colorado, and Loyda (Rafael) Kyremes, Salt Lake City, Utah; 20 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren.

Mark is preceded in death by his parents; sons, Charles, Tim, and Donny; daughter-in-law, Mary Jane Archuleta; siblings, Ascencion, Amos, Daniel, Vickie, Emelie, and Obed; and three loving grandsons.
