Daniel Archuleta, 85, of Salem, Utah, passed away in Payson, Utah, on Friday, October 25, 2019.
Daniel attended Spanish Fork High school. He met the love of his life, Lila Crist, in Payson, UT. They married on November 29, 1958 and have been married 61 years. Together, they raised 6 children. He worked as a Foreman for the Denver Rio Grande Railroad for 39 years before he retired. He was a member of the Springville Presbyterian church. For 50+ years Daniel enjoyed playing music with his band, the Midnight Strangers, and spending time at the bowling alley with his bowling family. His contagious smile and an infectious laugh brought him many lifelong friendships. Random Wendover trips to play in slot machine tournaments was one of his favorite past times. Dan was fun loving and always enjoyed a trip to Denny’s where he would flirt with the waitresses, drink coffee and enjoy a quick bite. He enjoyed doing puzzles with family and watching ALL the Denver Broncos football games.
Daniel is survived by his children: Donna Garrett, Shane (Manadi) Archuleta, and Diana Archuleta-Stearman; 25 grandchildren, 45 great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren; brothers: Amos Archuleta, Mark (Orcelia) Archuleta, and Alfonso Rodriguez; and his sisters: Loyda (Rafael) Kyremes, and Priscilla (Juan) Sanchez. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lila, brother Obed, sisters Vicky, Ascension, and Emily, son William, daughters Cindy and Sherrie, grandchildren Jason, Daniel and Anna and his parents.
