South East Railway Porter, Aaron Barham 35 was buried at Nunhead Cemetery on Saturday 13 October 1877

Born to Agricultural Labourer, Robert Barham of Bekesbourne, Kent and wife, Mary Ann Young of Eastling, Kent who married at St Lawrence the Martyr, Godmersham on Saturday 19 October 1839. They would have 8 children; Lydia, Aaron, Robert, Emma Jane, Harriet, Ann, Mary and Lewis Edward

Military Service - 18 June 1865 he enlisted into the King's Royal Rifle Corps - 60th Rifles, unit no 1659, becoming a Private. He was 5ft 9in, with brown hair and eyes. Sadly was discharged after serving 276 days as found unfit, due to impaired health and suffering chronic anaemia. His conduct had been noted as good throughout. (wonder if this is what led to his early death, as anaemia can mask a variety of illnesses?)

Both aged 27, Groom, Aaron Barham married Emma Harwood of Upton Noble, Somerset at St Lawrence the Martyr, Godmersham on Tuesday 13 July 1869. They would have one son, Charles Aaron Barham born in Lambeth, Surrey on 9 April 1870

Relationship: 2nd cousin 2x removed of husband, John Barham, who descends his Great Uncle, Arthur Barham 1789-1849 and Mary Fukes 1793-1827
