By the 1930 census, Charles Daniel was 53, unemployed and living with his married sister, Susie (Daniel) Goins and her family. Susie died in 1931. When Charles Daniel died, he was living in the McLennan "County Home" (poor house). He shows to be buried in the "county cemetery". At the time of his death, he had no living direct relatives in McLennan County, his mother's brothers having both relocated to west Texas by 1910.
The 1930 census and the DC both indicate he was widowed, but as of this writing there is no marriage record confirmed.
