Services for Marie Burroughs were held Saturday, Jan. 15, 2005, at 11 a.m. from Erin Cumberland Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Sam Foreman officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery under the direction of Milling Funeral Home of Union.
Ms. Burroughs, 84, died Thursday, Jan. 13, 2005, in Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center in Meridian.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Hall Burroughs; son, Edmond Burroughs; and a grandson.
Survivors include one daughter, Patricia Smith of Union; one son, Kent Burroughs of Decatur; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and four sisters, Fay Horton of Conehatta, Lavell Goss of Decatur and Eva Dean Snowden and Joe Tingle, both of Brandon.
Pallbearers were Andy Vance, Randy Vance, Freddie Ezelle, Lynn Ezelle, Larry Scott and Ray Ezelle.
