Abel worked as a lumberjack, farmhand and in construction throughout his life. He loved to sing, whistle, he also loved spending time with his family, listening to music, watching the Colorado Rockies and Denver Broncos, fishing and playing the guitar.
Abel is survived by his sons, Jerry (Gina) Griego, Will (Valerie) Griego and Joe (Isabel) Lagunas; his last surviving sibling, Liva; 11 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren and his special niece, Beatrice Castilleja.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Delores and Isabel Griego, wife, Efren, son, Abel Gilbert Griego, Jr. and siblings, Andrew, Daniel, Ernie, Ben, Rosalie, Dora, Virginia and Esther.
