Grant Sullivan, Sr. was the 2nd birth, of 5, to Almyra Roxanna (Stout) Sullivan & William Andrew Sullivan. I saw "Birth", rather than like "2nd (or 3rd) child of", because he was a TWINS Birth. On the same day, his Twin brother Gordon Andrew Sullivan was born. I do not know which of the Twins was actually born 1st.

The Twin boys were the 2nd & 3rd of what would eventually total 6 children, 5 of whom lived to Adulthood. Their sister "Betty" (Elizabeth Marie), the 4th of 6, passed away at a very young age (2-3 yeard old, sometime after the 5th was born. She died from what my Grandfather Sullivan described as "Brain Fever". My guess is it was Encephalitis.

There was some confusion as to exactly what Town / Village in Broome Count, NY that Grant (my father) was born in. His Twin is listed in Find-A-Grave as having been born in the City of Binghamton. However, New York State "Birth Index Records" found in Ancestry.com, state the Twins were born in Endicott, which is in the Town of Union, Broome County, NY. Most-likely in Ideal Hospital, Town of Union (sometimes referred to as "Union-Endicott", in Broome County. The family moved multiple times in the 1920's-1930's, hence the confusion. For example, younger children were said to have been born in Afton, NY in Chenango County, which is also where Betty died, and is buried.

NOTE that Grant is Not listed here as having a Middle Name. It isn't missing. He simply had NONE. When the Twins were born and Named. they were NOT given Middle Names. This has been the source of confusion, too, as there are many Document Forms, and Computer Systems that would ask for one, as a Middle Name is Ubiquitous Practice these days in the World of English Names Naming, but it was Not always so. It certainly was by the early 1900's, but my father's parents did not chose Middle Names at that time. Much later, when Twin brother Gordon converted to Roman Catholicism, he was required to pick a "Confirmation Name",. so he chose "Andrew" as his Middle Name, which was their father's Middle Name. My parents chose a Middle Name for Me (Grant, JR), choosing the 1st Name of my father's father.

Grant married Marion Rosa (BROWN) Sullivan, the oldest daughter of Harry J. & Anna (TWITCHELL) Brown of Upper Lisle, Town of Triangle, Broome County, NY. Marion was living with her parents at that time, and they didn't have much money, so they were married at her parents' home in Upper Lisle, NY. They were married just over 69 1/2 years, and had 6 children:

1) Grant William, Jr.
2) Harry George
3) Myra Anne
4) Mary Elizabeth
5) Richard Gordon
6) Raymond Lee
