George W. Martin, age 85, died Friday at 5:30 P.M. at his home near Ferndale. He was born in that community, and lived his
entire life there, a substantial and respected farmer. He was elected Union township trustee in 1896. Funeral services were
conducted, Sunday at 11 A.M. in Farmers' Chapel, by the Rev. M. O. Mumford. Interment was in Martin Cemetery. He leaves
to mourn their loss seven children: Gerti A., Marion O., Rosa A., Effie L., Albert A., Fred A., and Bessie I.; 9 grandchildren; 2
great-grandchildren. Gertie and Fred have always lived with the deceased and with Nora, wife of Fred. They have
contributed much to his happiness and comfort in the declining years, and during his last illness. He is survived by six
