Thelma Peeler Guthrie September 26, 1927 - October 28, 2022
Thelma Peeler Guthrie, 95, formerly of 402 Pecan Street, Gaffney, S.C. went home to be with the Lord on Friday, October 28, 2022 at Peachtree Centre.
Born in Gaffney, she was the widow of the late Robert Guthrie and daughter of the late Ernest Peeler and Dorcas Davis Peeler.
She retired from Gaffney Manufacturing, loved her family, sewing, knitting, cooking and puzzles. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Evelyn Robbs of Gaffney and Sheila Byars (Mack) of Blacksburg, S.C.; three sisters, Ruth McCoy of Florida, Alice Baston and Doris Patterson, both of Gaffney; a sister-in-law, Elsie Peeler of Gaffney; five grandchildren, Shannon Rayfield (Bee Vang), Melanie Thomas (Preston), Brian Hartsell (Ann), April Roberts (Chris) and Jill Chapman (Dustin); ten great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Ernest Peeler, Jr. and three sisters, Helen Peeler, Dorothy Painter and Lois Bright.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, October 31, 2022 in Frederick Memorial Gardens with Mr. Brian Hartsell and Mr. Ashby Blakely officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the graveside.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Faith Baptist Church, 246 Ford Road, Gaffney, S.C. 29340.
The family will be at their respective homes.
