Died at 5 p.m. Monday at his home, Route 1, Walker. Aged 87. Native of Walker. Body at Hollabaugh-Spindle Funeral Home, Denham Springs, until 1 p.m. Wednesday. Religious services at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Salem Baptist Church near Walker, conducted by the Revs. J. D. Carroll, David Luce and Marvin Magee. Burial in Salem Cemetery.

Active pallbearers: Paul, Curtis and Bobby Ray Jones and Glen, Ray and Luther Phillip Palmer.

Survived by five sons, Calvin Palmer of St. Francisville, Luther E. Palmer, S. E., Alton and Huey Palmer, all of Walker; four daughters, Mrs. J. C. Tyler of Sulphur, Mrs. L. E. Furr of Brookhaven, Miss., Mrs. Ivy Jones of Walker and Mrs. J. J. Miller Jr. of Denham Springs; two brothers, J. C. Palmer of Asheville, N.C., and B. E. Palmer of Terryville, Tex.; 36 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Member of Salem Baptist Church.
