Died at 12:15 p.m. Wednesday, March 9, 1983, at Baton Rouge General Hospital. He was 74, a native of Walker and resident of Livingston. He was a retired carpenter and millwright. Visiting at Seale Funeral Home, Denham Springs, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday and after 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, conducted by the Rev. Herman Wilkerson and Dr. Brad Curry. Burial in Palmetto Cemetery, Walker.

Survived by two daughters, Theresa Jackson and Dianne Johnson, both of Walker; two sons, Clyde E. and Tillman Palmer, both of Walker; three sisters, Lavata Furr, Brookhaven, Miss., Arvilla Tyler, Sulphur, and Aline Jones, Walker; four brothers, Luther, Sam, Alton and Huey Palmer, all of Walker; eight grandchildren.

Preceded in death by his wife, Deana G. Palmer; a son, Billy Calvin Palmer; and a granddaughter, Tawhya Jackson.

Pallbearers will be Thomas Glascock, Warren, Billy, Buren and Glenn Palmer and Rudy Chandler.

He was a member of Walker Baptist Church, member and former business manager of Millwright Local 720, and former member of Carpenters Local 1098.
