William D. Sailors, 72 years old, passed away on Thursday, September 8, 2022 in his home. William was born in South Bend on May 30, 1950 to the late Robert D. and B. Marie (Febbo) Sailors. He remained a lifelong resident of the South Bend area.

William is survived by his son, William (Jennifer) Sailors, Jr, of South Bend; daughter, Jessica (Eric) Kessler of Donaldson, Indiana; grandchildren, Kirsten, Jordan and Alyssa; great grandchildren, Ember, Jaxson, Liam and Lydia; sisters Mary (Dave) Johnson of Walkerton, Janet Rankin of South Bend and brother, Michael (Karen) Sailors of Lakeville. Wiliam had a great love for all his nieces and nephews.

William worked over the years as a heavy machine operator and a driver for St. Joseph Hospital. He enjoyed the time he spent with friends at The Chocolate Café and showing his Corvette and Shelby Mustang. William graduated from Jackson High School in South Bend where he played football.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, September 12, 2022 at Palmer Funeral Home – North Liberty, 202 North Main Street, North Liberty, IN, with burial to follow at Westlawn Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Sunday, September 11, 2022 from 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of William D. Sailors may be donated to the American Heart Association or the Center for Hospice. Online condolences may be offered to the family at www.palmerfuneralhomes.
