Ethel O. Tilbury, 84, of Bridgeport, died Monday, Dec. 9, 1996, at the home of her son in Chelan.
She was born Dec. 23, 1911, at Kalona, Iowa, the daughter of Noah William Sawyer and Daisy Orena Pierce. Later, she moved with her family to Pine River, Minn., where she graduated from high school.
On Dec. 23, 1934, she was married to James Silas Tilbury, at Pine River, Minn. They moved to Bozeman, Mont., in 1948, and to Twisp in 1951. Following her husband's retirement, they moved to Bridgeport in 1990.
She was a member of the Rocky Butte Nazarene Church.
Mr. Tilbury preceded her in death on Aug. 4, 1996. Survivors include four sons, Ron, Lyle, James and Ivan Tilbury, all of Chelan; three daughters, Janet Thedorff and Darlene Baumgardner, both of Chelan, and Joyce Andrews of Clifton, Texas; 20 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Steven Silas Tilbury,four brothers and three sisters.
Services are under the direction of the Precht Rose Chapel, Chelan.
