Eugene was the son of Clarence Luther Blankenship and Ida Mae Wright Blankenship. He worked at WM Bassett Furniture for more than 30 years. He was preceded in death by his daughter Laura Blankenship and his sisters Isabelle Williams Milam and Dorothy Elizabeth Barrow. He is survived by his wife, Maudie Gerdeane (nee roop) Blankenship, a daughter Cathy Blankenship and a granddaughter.
A graveside service was held at the Ferris Family Cemetery in Stella, VA on November 5, 2015.
