The Akron Beacon Journal, Akron, Ohio on Friday, July 11, 1980, Page 17.
Mrs. Amelia J. Seifert, age 92, of 212 Eighth St. NW, Barberton, who passed away on Wednesday, July 9, in Barberton Citizens Hospital after an illness of more than three weeks.
The Massillon, Ohio native was the last of her immediate family of Youngbloods, with 12 children, 63 grandchildren, 72 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. Born to the late John Leo and Catherine (Vogt) Youngblood, she was married in St. Mary's Church in Massillon on June 30, 1909 to Edward M. Seifert. He preceded her in death on January 27, 1936, as her daughter shared, 'in a time before Social Security benefits were available, leaving her with nothing'. The family made it work by everyone pitching in.
Mrs. Seifert was a member of St. Augustine's Catholic Church, St. Monica's Altar Society and a life member of LCBA.
Always excited to be a part of family gatherings for birthdays, weddings, graduations and first communions, her favorite time was the annual Fourth of July family reunion. Due to her illness, she missed this reunion for the first time in 30 years, as well as celebrating the birth recently of great-great-grandchildren, her greatest joy.
A lover of life, always eager to be with family, she will be greatly missed by sons, Donald J., Robert and Richard, all in Barberton, Ivan F. in Norton, and the Rev. Raymond G. Seifert of Attica; daughters, Ruth Oser in Barberton, Helen Petit of Doylestown, Marita Zupke in Akron, Miriam Seifert of the home, Carol Hoover in Indiana, and Joan Wehling in Pittsburgh.
Monbarren Funeral Home in Doylestown where the rosary will be recited on Friday at 8 p.m. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in St. Augustine Church. Burial in Doylestown.
