Mr. O'Brien was born on January 17, 1928 in Madison, Kansas to parents, William Jackson O'Brien and Sarah Ellen (Jones) O'Brien and passed away on July 16, 2022 in Splendora, Texas.
Mr. O'Brien enjoyed playing golf, cooking and telling stories and jokes that could go on for hours. He loved being around his family and spending time with his great-grandchildren. He would spend hours gardening working on his prized tomatoes which he would then, in turn, be so proud to share with everyone. He never missed watching his Astros play and you could bet he had a cold "bud" in his hand! Before he and his wife got older, they enjoyed traveling and going on trips all over the world, one of their favorite trips that they took was visiting Alaska. Their house in Walden was full of precious memories from the 71 years of marriage they shared together. There was nothing that he loved more than his family. He was truly one-of-a-kind and the kindest, most caring man you could ever meet.
He is survived by his sister, Kathy Rohr; son, Brent O'Brien; granddaughters, Stacey Leasman, Carrie Hayden and husband Dwayne, Jennifer Loomis and husband Kevin, Kelley Brown and husband Will, and Ashley O'Brien; great-grandchildren, Brooklyn Leasman, Tripp Leasman, Shane Brown, Emery Hayden, Ainsley Hayden, Kayleigh Loomis, Kaleb Loomis, Bentley Loomis, Mckenzey Loomis, and Chloey Loomis; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Sarah O'Brien; wife, Beverly O'Brien; daughter, Erin Stockstill; and great-grandson, Jacob Brown.
