Pratt - Thelma Patricia "Pat" Hammonds, 87, passed away Wednesday, December 16, 2020. She was born July 4, 1933 in Madison to William J and Sarah (Jones) O'Brien. Pat married Charlie Hammonds on May 25, 1948 in Pratt. He preceded her in death on January 4, 1996.
Pat worked as a cook and as a caregiver. She enjoyed doing Home Bible Studies. She also enjoyed reading, needlework, gardening, crafting, doing jigsaw puzzles and crossword puzzles.
She is survived by her children, Pamela K (Ernie) Seyfert of Pratt, Charles P (Jana) Hammonds of Westville, Oklahoma, Patricia Ann (Gene) Vopat of Hays, Mark A (Deborah) Hammonds of Kiln, Mississippi, Renee (Tim) Snyder of Shawnee, Larry E (Brenda) Hammonds of Lindsborg, Angela D Catt of Topeka, Carla M (Lee) Capansky of Medicine Lodge, Tracy R Johnson of Wichita and Jerry Hammonds of Wichita; brother, Edward (Bev) O'Brien of Humble, Texas; sister, Kathryn (Tom) Rohr of Arlington Heights, Illinois; 22 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and 11 great great-grandchildren.
Pat is preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Hammonds; parents; brothers, Bill O'Brien, Ralph O'Brien, Jerry O'Brien and Jim O'Brien; sisters, Margaret Roe, Myrna Shanley, Judy Conradson, Mary Spivey, Pauline Helgeson and Etta Nixon; and great-granddaughter, Taylor Renee Cole.
Visitation will be Monday from 9:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Larrison Mortuary, 300 Country Club Road, Pratt. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at Larrison Mortuary, Pratt with Pastor Rodney Worsham presiding. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery, Pratt.
Memorials may be made to Pratt Public Library or Medicine Lodge Lincoln Library in care of Larrison Mortuary.
