Warren S Bowser, 74, of 346 Keystone Drive, New Kensington, died at 8:15 this morning [Feb. 11, 1976] in Allegheny Valley Hospital, Natrona Heights, following a six-month illness. Mr. Bowser was born Sept. 26, 1901 in Adrian to Roland S and Matilda Jane Wolf Bowser. He lived in New Kensington 50 years. Mr. Bowser retired in 1966 from General Electric Corp., now Jones and Laughlin Steel Corp., after 42 years service. He was a member and elder of Maranatha Bible Church, New Kensington, Local 602 IUE and the Retirees Club, where he was president, both of New Kensington. His wife, Virginia Hobaugh Bowser died April 7, 1970. Survivors include three sons; L Stanley of Sunnyvale, Calif., Paul of Santa Barbara, Calif., and Warren H of Huntsville, Ala.; three daughters; Mrs. Bernard [Jean] Smith of Apollo, Mrs. Raymond [Paula] Sheilds of Washington Township and Mrs. Robert [ Marjorie] Mahar of New Kensington; 28 grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren; two brothers; Ernest of New Kensington and William of Apollo and a sister, Mrs. Irma Frampton of Huntington, WV. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 tomorrow evening and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 Friday in the Ross G Walker Funeral Home, 217 Freeport Road, New Kensington, where a service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday. His Pastor, the Rev. Lyman F Erickson, will officiate. Burial will follow in the family lot in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell. All member and retirees of Local 602 IVE will assemble at 7 p.m. Friday in the funeral home to pay last respects.
