Ruth Brooks Thomas, age 95, of Iberia, died Wednesday, August 4, 2004, at Lake Regional Hospital (Osage Beach). She was born in Eldon on
September 1, 1908, a daughter of John and Nancy (Jobe) Watt. On March 22,
1929, in Miller County, she was married to Ralph Waldo Thomas, who preceded her in death on September 23, 1984.

She owned and operated the general store in Bentown for 30 years and was a rural school teacher at Barton and Etterville Schools. She was
initiated in the Order of the Eastern Star #210. She received her 50 year pin in 2001 and has been a member of the Rebecca Lodge #324 since December
4, 1979. She was a member of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include: four sons, John Paul Thomas of Pasco, Washington, James Ray Thomas of Brumley, Ralph Lowell Thomas of Ulman, and Wayne Thomas of Lake Ozark; one sister, Louise Allen of Lake Ozark; 20 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.

Services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 7, at Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. Rev. Gene Edwards will officiate. Interment will be in Greenmore Memorial Gardens near Barnett. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home, with an Eastern Star Service at 7:00
p.m. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Iberia Masonic Lodge and Order of the Eastern Star Building Fund.
