Peggy Sue Hunt departed this life for her eternal Heavenly home on June 3, 2022. She was surrounded by her family. Peggy was born at home on her family's farm in rural Dearborn, Missouri on April 30, 1935, to William R. and Edythe Fern Allan.
Peggy attended and graduated from Dearborn High School in 1953 where she played four years as a varsity basketball player with an unstoppable hook shot from the key. It was during her years in school that she met and eventually married the love of her life, Marlin R. Hunt. Following graduation, Peggy attended Weaver Airline School. Upon graduating, Peggy worked for Trans World Airlines at the Kansas City Municipal Airport for approximately two years. During this time Peggy and Marlin were united in marriage on April 27, 1955. Shortly after Peggy and Marlin were married, Marlin was sent to North Africa with the United States Air Force. On his return after 10 months, Peggy and Marlin were rarely separated for more than a few times during their 67 years of marriage. Their time together took them to Kansas City, MO; Colorado Springs, CO; Peculiar, MO; Great Falls, MT; Athens, Greece; Las Vegas, NV; Alamogordo, NM; and eventually back to Peculiar, MO where she lived out her life with Marlin on their farm.
Peggy returned to her home state of Missouri where she and Marlin bought their farm in rural Peculiar in 1989. The farm hosted numerous Christmas mornings, holidays, birthday celebrations, family dinners, and grandchildren sleepovers. Peggy was always the happiest when she was surrounded by her children and grandchildren. She was an expert quilter and made the most beautiful handmade quilts. She enjoyed working outside mowing, swimming, reading, playing card games, especially solitaire and listening to music.
Throughout her life, Peggy was straightforward, unassuming, and unselfish to a degree of rugged honesty. Peggy was a lifelong follower of Christ and lived out the example Christ set. She and Marlin spent many mornings reading and studying the Word of God together. She imparted words of wisdom and love to all and gave her family innumerable memories.
In Heaven, Peggy joins her parents, William R. and Edythe Fern Allan, her sister Clara Mae Ehlers, and Baby Sister.
Peggy is survived by her husband, Marlin, of the home. Their four children, Jeffery Hunt (Kristin), Great Falls, MT, Gregory Hunt (Patricia) Stockton, MO, Pamela Reilly (James) Lee's Summit, MO, and Curtis Hunt (Jill) Great Falls, MT. Nine Grandchildren, Rocky Hunt, Brandon Hunt (Dawnee), Alicia Morrison (Sean), Joshua Reilly (Megan), Sean Reilly (Dani), Laurel, Jonah, Elijah, and Silas Hunt. Four Great Grandchildren, Landon Morrison, Wyatt, Emmalyn, Beau, and Waylon Hunt. Also, numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Jamison Hunt, CNA for the loving care she gave Peggy and the caring team from Novus LifeCare Hospice.
