PICKENS, SC - May 11 - Nelson Chastain, 87, died at his home in Pickens this morning at 1 o'clock, after an illness of two and one-half years. He was a son of the late Tillman Chastain and Sarah Ladd Chastain.
He is survived by the following children: Mrs. Mary Greer, Misses Ida and Leona Chastain, Oscar, Webb, and Furman Chastain; six grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted from the Griffin Baptist Church at 2 p.m. Friday by Rev. F. S. Childress, Rev. H. A. Newton. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be George Moore, Lewis Williams, Elbert Clark, Shirley McNeely, J. T. Chastain and Louis Parsons.
The body is at the residence.
