DERIOUS DAVID DIED SUNDAY AT GILBERT; FUNERAL SERVICES SET FOR WEDNESDAY
Derious David, 79, long time of south of Story City, Iowa, died Sun, 21 May 1939, of a heart attack, while visiting the home of his daughter, Mrs Laura M. Kauwell.
The funeral rites will be held Wed. P.M. at the Duckworth funeral home in Ames, Iowa, and burial will be at the Nevada Cemetery.
Born at Illinois, 26 Mar 1860, he lived there as a boy and moved from Illinois to Kansas, in 1879 with his parents.
He was united in marriage to Katherine Stumbaugh on 25 Nov 1885. In 1890 they moved to Des Moine and the next year came to Story Co. and here the family home has since been, the most of the time on a farm south of Story City.
He leaves a widow and 5 children to mourn his death. The children are; Anna (David) Ballard, Rose D. (David)
Hazelwood, Will H., Leona M. (David) Moravets, Laura M. (David) Kauwell. He also leaves 23 grand children and 16 great grand children.
