Obituary: ROSE (DAVID) HAZELWOOD
Rose Hazelwood, 97, who had resided at North Grand Care Center since March, died Thursday, Oct 17, 1986, at Mary Greeley Medical Center. Services will be 1:30 P.M., Monday, Oct 21, 1986, at Heiser Chapel in Collegiate Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Arthur Sundstrom officiating. Burial will be in the Nevada Cemetery.
Rose David was born Feb 17, 1888, Kansas, to Derious and Catherine David. She had worked at the Shelton-Munn Hotel for many years as a desk clerk. During WWII she was desk clerk by day and in charge of selling bus tickets, and of sending and receiving telegrams by night. She had lived with her daughter for 13 years prior to her death.
She was a member of the Collegiate Presbyterian Church, Ames Women's Rotary Club, and the Auxillary of the National Association of Power Engineers.
She is survived by her daughter, and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Luther; an infant son, a brother and three sisters.
Friends may call 5-9 P.M. Sunday, at Stevens Memorial Chapel.
