Mary Cadagin Farmer, 95, of Springfield, died at 4:35 p.m. on Friday, May 27, 2022.

Mary was born November 7, 1926, in Springfield, the daughter of Frank and Gertrude (O'Leary) Cadagin. She and Marvin Farmer were married on October 14, 1950, at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Springfield and they celebrated 71 years of marriage in October 2021. Marvin preceded her in death on December 14, 2021.

Mary was a 1944 graduate of Sacred Heart Academy. She was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church and their Altar Society. Mary was also active in the St. Louise de Marillac Society and St. Joseph's Home Coterie. She was certified by the Library of Congress as a Braille Transcriber. Mary was a proud recipient of the Irishwoman of the Year award.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Ed, Jim, Jack, Bob, Dick, and Don Cadagin; infant grandson, Timothy Farmer; brother-in-law, Larry Snodgrass; and sisters-in-law, Joan and Jacquie Cadagin.

Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 1, 2022, at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
