Carl N. Housmann, age 85 of Carrollton, IL passed away Friday, May 20, 2022 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO. He was born October 30, 1936 in Kampsville, IL, the son of Harry and Laura Sutton Housmann. He married Ruth Weber November 26, 1958 in Carrollton, IL and she survives.

He is also survived by a son, Jeffrey Housmann (companion Shelly Davis) of Godfrey, IL; two grandchildren, Gretchen Housmann of Prattville, Alabama and Charles Housmann of Godfrey, IL. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy Dugan, Minnie Wanick, and four brothers, Fred, Elmer, Edward, and Harold Housmann.

Carl served in the United States Army from 1955-1960. He was the plant manager at Columbiana Seed Company for 30 years. He was a member of the Kampsville American Legion. He enjoyed working with wooden ducks, making duck calls and cains. He made cains from the ducks heads and donated them to John Cochran VA Medical Center for veterans. He enjoyed gardening, being outdoors, and spending time with his family.

Funeral services will be held 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in Carrollton, IL with burial to follow in Eldred Memorial Gardens Cemetery in rural Eldred, IL. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to American Diabetes Association.
