Dora Hausman Duggins

Dora Hausman Duggins, 82, of Jacksonville, died Saturday, July 3, 2010, at Heritage Manor East in Beardstown. She was born Oct. 24, 1927, in Silver Creek, Calhoun County, IL, the daughter of Harry and Laura Sutton Hausman.

She married Cordell Milo Duggins on May 1, 1943, in Hardin and he preceded her in death on Feb. 13, 1989.

She is survived by three daughters, Marjorie Pond (John) Peterson and Linda (Garry) Birdsell, both of Jacksonville, and Donna Kientzel of Murrayville; seven grandchildren, Barbara King, Michael Pond, Brian Pond, Laura Craig, Kevin Birdsell, Chris Birdsell and Dora Jean Savage Quinn; 20 great-grandchildren, Erica, Carrie, Jaime and Stephen King, Brittany, Brandon, Ashley and Kaitlin Pond, J.D. and Brianna Craig, Rachel, Jason, Brittany, Adam, Elizabeth and Emilee Birdsell, Tyler Buss, and KayLee, Rihanna and Coco Quinn; one great-great grandson, Brody Mefford; and three brothers, Elmer, Harold and Carl Housman.

She was preceded in death by one great-grandson, Dalton Craig; two brothers, Ed and Fred Housman; and two sisters, Violet Hausman and Minnie Wanick.

Mrs. Duggins loved making quilts, china painting, and working in her flower beds. She especially loved caring for her grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Thursday at Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home in Jacksonville, with burial at Diamond Grove Cemetery. The family will meet friends 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Alzheimer’s Association. The online memorial book may be signed at www.buchanancody.com.

Fred H "Fritz" Housman, # 104060041, 1920-1998 Buried in the same cemetery as Lora Housman, and born around the same year as Dora's brother, Fred. However, his memorial states he is the son of Fred Housman. I am wondering if his middle initial may stand for Harold, and Dora's father may have been Fred Harold "Harry" Housman.
