Ann "Annie" Armour was the daughter of Archibald Armour and Ann Greenlees Armour, all native to Scotland. She was an unmarried spinster, plus the last known child of her parents, to die.

Anne Armour was born 20 Mar 1819 to parents Archibald Armour and Anne Greenlees. On 24 Mar 1819, she was christened in Campbeltown, Argyll, Scotland. "Scotland Births and Baptisms, 1564-1950," database, FamilySearch

On the 1850 Ottawa, Lasalle, Illinois census, I found lumber merchant John Armour, 39, with $8K in real estate; other Armours: (her widowed mother and namesake) Ann, 63; contractor George, 37, with $8K in real estate and ANN, 28, with $1500.00 in real estate, all born in Scotland.

On the 1860 Ottawa, Lasalle, Illinois census, I found (her brother) produce dealer John Armour, 50; ANN Armour, 35 and servant Mary Morris, 20. John and Ann were born in Scotland and Mary in Ireland.

On the 1870 Ottawa, Lasalle, Illinois census, I found Ann Armor (no E), 49, born in Scotland, with $6K in real estate and $17,500 in personal property, plus domestic servant Hellen Campbell, 20, born in Illinois.

"Miss ANN ARMOUR died at her residence on Illinois Avenue on Sunday morning last, at the age of 70 years. Some two or more years ago she was affected by a stroke of paralysis which brought her to death's door, but she recovered the shock and for some months until a few days ago she was much improved in health, and was able to ride out, and was out, when the weather was mild, until Friday we believe; so that her death on Sunday may be said to have been unexpected. She was Scotch by birth and parentage, but had been a resident of this city for fully 40 years; living a quiet, unassuming life, but one full of good words and works; in former years actively interesting herself in church work and charitable deeds; and, later liberal with her means in the same directions when the physical burden of them fell necessarily to younger persons. Living single, she managed her own business matters with judicious ability, and died leaving a comfortable fortune. The funeral took place on Tuesday afternoon, and was largely attended, among those present being a number of relatives from Chicago, La Salle and various western states whither in the years since the Armours came to this county, the family has become scattered." Published in the Ottawa Free Trader (Illinois) dated 4 May 1889, p 1 (see photo).

Her younger brother Archibald died in 1881 and his obit said about Ann: "An only sister of the five brothers -- a maiden lady -- survives, occupying in very comfortable circumstances a pleasant home in the western part of this city." Published in the Ottawa Free Trader (Illinois) dated 6 Aug 1881, page 4, the Library of Congress (posted on his site here).

Ann Armour's probate was in LaSalle Co. Illinois in 1889, Box 212, file #1. Expect her estate "fortune" may have been left to family (unviewed).

Her age at death is hard to read on her marker, it might say aged 70, not sure.
