January 1782 "Baptisms & C., p 28: Archibald, Lawful Son to Robert ARMOUR & Janet Pickan was born 9th & baptd. 10th Feby 1782." He is Fifth down on the handwritten list from the "Old Parish Registers, Births 507/20 57, in Campbeltown, Argyll, Scotland, page 57 of 197" (per posted photo from the National Records of Scotland). Township code 507 is for Campbeltown. Also in #FR678.

Archibald Armour was born 9 Feb 1782, baptized on the 10th and died 23 Dec 1828. He married Ann AKA Anne Greenlees on 3 July 1806 in Campbeltown, Argyll, Scotland OR on 28 Jun 1806 in Southend, Argyll, Scotland (FS). Ann was the daughter of George Greenlees per her Argyll Old Parish Birth Register.

Verify the above data and the ScotlandsPeople indexes (unofficial) on her site with the original records. Ann was buried in Illinois at the Ottawa Avenue Cemetery in LaSalle County, making her site here, a cenotaph which is not connected by current Findagrave rules.

They had Armour children:

The Armour children's christening in Campbeltown with their births dates above for Robert, John, George, Archibald, James and Anne were all recorded in Scotland.

After Archibald died on 23 Dec 1828, his wife Ann and their known children settled in America, for a better life. On the 1850 Ottawa, Lasalle Co., Illinois census, I found lumber merchant John Armour, 39 with $8K in real estate; other Armours: Ann, 63 (about 1787); contruction contractor George, 37 with $8K in real estate and Ann, 28, with $1500 in real estate, all born in Scotland. Produce dealer John, 50, with $45K in real estate and Ann (unmarried), 35, were also on the 1860 LaSalle census. Ann (Sr.) was listed on the 1860 Ottawa, La Salle Co., Illinois Census Mortality Schedule, aged 74 (about 1786), born in Scotland, died Sep 1859 suddenly, of old age.

The gravestone age at death of Archibald's wife Ann, is hard to make out, though it should be a 7 (for 74) based on current data, it's just not legible in the 2019 photo, taken by the late James Adam.

Daughter: "Armour, Ann, P.O. Ottawa, born Scotland, settled here Sept. 1840." Per The Past and Present of Lasalle County, Illinois, published Chicago, H. F. Kett & Co., Cor. 5th Ave. and Washington St., 1877.

Son: Archibald, Jr.'s Aug 1881 obit in the Ottawa Free Trader, from Ottawa, La Salle Co., Illinois included these lines "...Thus passed away the last of the 5 Armour brothers who came to this state from Scotland away back before the forties..." (posted on his site).

By coincidence, in the same month, I located this, possible kin from Campbeltown to Ottawa: The Old Settlers, A Hot Day, a Big Crowd and an Interesting Gathering… (various stories about different people and situations, plus some songs were followed by various sundry items: "Among the relics were: …A Bible, belonging to Mrs. Elizabeth Bryan, 154 years old (so about 1727); carried through the campaign of 1780 by JAS. ARMOUR, OF CAMPBELTOWN, who was a BRITISH SOLDER FOR 12 YEARS…". Published in The Ottawa Free Trader dated 13 Aug 1881, Page 5 (see photo).
