Vera passed away at St. Luke's Hospital in Chesterfield, St. Louis County, Missouri in 2011.
Del lived until 2022. He died at Anderson Hospital at the age of 92 years, 11 months and 12 days.
He was survived by 1 daughter and 1 son-in-law; 1 son and 1 daughter-in-law; 10 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren and a great-granddaughter-to-be; and 2 brothers and 2 sisters-in-law.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by 1 sister, Eva Stumpf; and 3 brothers, John Friedel, Wayne Friedel and Ronald Friedel.
A celebration of life service was held at 9 a.m. on the morning of 09 May 2022 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Edwardsville. Mass was held there at 10 a.m. that morning. Gray Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
The family requested that memorials, if desired, be made to American Legion Post 685 in Brussels or to the American Cancer Society.
