Bobby Mayfield passed away in PEACE at home with his wife, Joyce Mayfield, by his side Friday, July 2, 2021 at the age of 64. Bobby is rejoicing in heaven, walking the streets of gold with family and friends, free of pain.
Bobby Mayfield was born July 8, 1956 in Shreveport, LA. Bobby made his arrival on earth as a triplet and his birth was on the front page of the Shreveport Times. Over Bobby's life, there were numerous articles written about him. Bobby served in the Army. He was in sales, surveyed land and was an extra in two movies filmed in Shreveport, The Guardian and the Ruffian.
Bobby enjoyed cooking, puzzles, socializing, Facebook, and going to church. He loved animals, children, his family and his wife, Joyce. Bobby had a big heart and always helped anyone in need.
Bobby is preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Thelma Mayfield of Shreveport, LA; brothers, Roy M. Mayfield, Phillips Mayfield, Jimmie Mayfield, and his triplet brother, Billy Mayfield; and triplet sister, Bettye Putch; and stepson, Russell Wilson.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 16 years, Wilma Joyce Mayfield; brother, Ken Mayfield of Longview, TX; sisters, Glenda Castro of Rogers, AR, Delores Carter and husband, Randy of Bella Vista, AR; stepchildren, Sherry Thomasson, Carol Schoof and husband, Jeff of Grand Prairie, TX, Annette Mathews and husband, Danny of Waskom, TX, Jimmy Dement Jr. of Waskom, TX, Matthew Dement of Wylie, TX; 11 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
There will be a memorial service to celebrate Bobby Mayfield's life Thursday, July 8, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. (Bobby's Birthday) at Countryside Church, 11800 Mansfield Road, Keithville, LA 71047.
To honor Bobby, the family suggests, in lieu of flowers, to please donate to a church of your choice.
The family would like to thank the Heart of Hospice. They were such a blessing.
The church will be open at 10:00 a.m. to accept food or flowers. Immediately after the service, family and friends will gather in the church kitchen.
GOD is good, and Bobby will be missed.
