Born near Princeville. Daughter of Albert & Sarah (McMunn) Mansfield. Wife of 1) Forrest Sorenson, & 2) 2nd wife of Fred Jones, m. Oct 15, 1946.

FORMER LOCAL RESIDENT DIES, CRASH INJURIES

Funeral services for Mrs. Fred C. Jones, 46, of Laura former resident of this city, were held at 2:30 Monday afternoon at the Presbyterian church in Princeville. Rev. Lee Smith, of Homer, Illinois, officiated at the rites.
Pallbearers were T. E. Mowbray, Frank Graves, Leland Graves, Harry Freedman, Wilbur Poland, W.L. Cordis.
Mrs. Harry Matthews and Mrs. Harold Bouton furnished the song service, accompanied at the organ by Mrs. Harold Hall.
Interment was in Princeville cemetery.
Mrs. Jones died at 3 o'clock Friday morning at Kewanee St. Francis hospital as the result of injuries received in an automobile crash, which occurred Tuesday evening,
January 20, south of Kewanee. She was seriously injured when the automobile in which she and her husband were riding, was involved in a crash with a car driven by Dale Briggs, of Bradford, on Route 78 just north of Kewanee airport.
Mable Eleanor Mansfield, daughter of Albert and Sarah Mansfield, was born October 21, 1901, near Princeville. She attended school there and lived nearly all her life in that community.
She was married to Forrest Sorenson, of Toulon, and they their home in this city several years.
Returning to Princeville in 1934, she was employed as an operator for the Illinois Central Telephone Company, later serving as manager for the exchange of five years.
On October 15, 1946, she was unites in marriage to Fred C. Jones and had made her home in Laura
Surviving are her husband, a daughter by her former marriage, Eleanor, now Mrs. William Aby, of Laura, and a granddaughter, Loretta Lee Aby, also of Laura; a brother, L. A. Mansfield, of Princeville, and a sister, Mrs. H. I. Niell, of Kewanee.
She was preceded in her death by her parents, her mother, an aunt and a niece having been killed in an automobile accident near Princeville several years ago.
The deceased was a member of the Princeville Presbyterian church, Union Grove chapter Order of Eastern Star and Royal Neighbors at Laura.
