Born February 4, 1906 in Jubilee Township, a son of Albert and Sarah McMunn Mansfield. He married Mary Garrett in Princeton, June 16, 1933. She died October 22, 1968.
Survived by two sons, Garrett and Luther Jr. (Addie) both of Princeville. Preceded in death by an infant daughter and two sisters.
He was a member of the Princeville United Methodist Church, a graduate of Princeville schools, attended Monmouth College two years and graduated from Bradley University with a Bachelor of Science and Master’s degree in education.
He was in the teaching profession nearly 60 years, principal of Gardener school for 11 years, retired as principal of the Princeville Grade School in 1968.
He was a member of several professional teaching organizations, past president of Peoria County Interscholastic Association, Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity of Monmouth College.
Mr. Mansfield was a member of Princeville’s Masonic Lodge 360 AF & Am and a past village clerk in Princeville.
Memorial Contributions may be given to the Princeville Unit School or to the United Methodist Church.
