FORMER RESIDENT, FRED HAMMER, DIES IN KISSIMMEE, FL

Fred Hammer, a former resident of Princeville, passed away early Wednesday morning (December 23, 1959)in the Kissimmee Hospital in Kissimmee, FL, where he had been admitted the day before.

Mr. Hammer was a lifelong resident of the Princeville community before moving to Florida with his daughter and family, the Harold Halls, in July 1939. He owned and operated a butcher shop before retiring in 1942.

He was born in Princeville April 28, 1873, one of ten children of Henry and Emma Metzel Hammer. He was united in marriage to Eva Cooper Chamberlain April 4, 1913. She preceded him in death.

Survivng are his daughter, Fanchon Hall, with whom he made his home in Kissimmee, FL; two sisters, Mrs. Charles Harbers and Mrs. Lillie Custer of Peoria; two grandchildren, Freddie and Eddie Hall of Kissimmee, FL; and a number of nieces and nephews.

The body will be returned to Princeville for funeral services and burial. Boston Memorial Home is in charge of arrangements which have not been completed yet.
