Cedar Grove Civic Leader Died After Attack at Auditorium

Funeral services for Dr. Ira Blume, 117 East Sixty-seventh street, one of two men stricken with sudden illness at the wrestling matches in the city auditorium Monday night, will be held at 2:30 p.m. today at the Southside Baptist church. The Rev. J. F. Kane, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Forest Park cemetery under the direction of the Wellman funeral home.

Dr. Blume is survived by his widow, Mrs. Ora Southern Blume, and two daughters, Mrs. Edith Love of Shreveport and Miss Mary Blume, a student at Louisiana Tech in Ruston; two brothers, Conway Blume of Houston, Texas, and Earnest Blume of Jonesboro; and five sisters, Mrs. W. H. Young of Minden, Mrs. Mack Tooke of Ringgold, Mrs. E. F. Osborne of Houston, Mrs. Marshall Talton of Minden, and Mrs. Pearl Gwyn of Memphis, and two grandchildren, Carolyn and Barbara Love.

Dr. Blume had been a resident of Shreveport for the past 20 years. He was a past president of the Cedar Grove Rotary club, a Mason, a member of the Eastern Star lodge and a deacon in the Southside Baptist church.

Dr. Blume was stricken with a cerebral hemorrhage while watching the wrestling matches at the city auditorium Monday night. He was rushed to a hospital where he died an hour later.

F. A. Pino, another spectator at the auditorium, was stricken with a heart attack shortly after Dr. Blume had been taken to the hospital in an ambulance. Mr. Pino died at a hospital a short while later.

Funeral services for Dr. Ira Blume, 117 East Sixty-second street, who was stricken suddenly while attending the wrestling match at city auditorium Monday night, were held Wednesday afternoon at the Southside Baptist church, with Rev J. F. Kane, pastor, officiating. Interment was in Forest Park cemetery, under direction of Wellman funeral home.
