Virginia L. "Tip" Claytor, age 101, of Beaver, WV passed away on Thursday, March 3, 2022.
Born on May 15, 1920 in Ansted, WV, she was the daughter of the late Hollie and Alice Ferguson Claytor. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family, and was a former employee of Beckley Manufacturing.
Miss Claytor enjoyed bingo, fishing, and also loved canning and cooking for her family. She was a caregiver for some of her sisters until their passing, and was of the Baptist faith.
Miss Claytor was preceded in death by her parents; by sisters, Catherine Claytor, Irene Carte, Mary Coleman, Ruth Gray, and Helen Massie; a brother, Alvin Claytor and many nieces and nephews.
Those survivors left to cherish her memory include many nieces, nephews, and their families, including her special caregivers, great-great-great nephew, Dakota Burgess and great-great niece, Tara Burgess.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel in Beckley on Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at noon with Pastor Steve Gibson officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens at Prosperity, WV. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the services on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Dakota Burgess, John Sweeney, Savanna Sweeney Patterson, Tiffany Burgess, Tara Burgess, and Bubby Clere.
