John P. Grosswiler, Sr., 90, of Norwalk, passed away Wednesday, February 2, 2022, at home surrounded by his loving family.
John was born on March 8, 1931, in Norwalk, to the late Charles and Eva (Robinson) Grosswiler.
John graduated from Monroeville High School in 1949. He proudly served his country during the Korean War as a member of the United States Army. John was employed at Maxie Tire where he retired in 1995, after a dedicated career of 44 years. He was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, VFW, American Legion, and the Norwalk Eagles, where he was past President and held other offices. In his spare time, John enjoyed playing softball, dartball, and bowling. His greatest joy of all was spending time with his family and friends.
John is survived by his loving wife of 65 years; 4 children and their spouses; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, John is preceded in death by his son, John P. Grosswiler, Jr. and all 14 of his siblings.
A visitation will be held on Monday, February 7, 2022, from 4 pm to 8 pm at Walker-Eastman-Heydinger Funeral Home, 98 W. Main Street, Norwalk, OH 44857. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, February 8, 2022, at 10:30 am at St. Paul Catholic Church, 91 E. Main Street, Norwalk, OH 44857. Burial will follow in St. Paul Cemetery.
