Phillip Aaron Vetor, 82 of Summitville, passed away peacefully with his family Wednesday evening, January 19th, 2022. He was the last born to Charles and Mable (Pyle) Vetor on February 28th, 1939. As the youngest boy, Phil and his brothers enjoyed playing athletics, particularly baseball, a tradition that continues today throughout the Vetor lineage. As a Goblin, Phil participated in cross country, basketball as a point and 2 guard, baseball as a shortstop and 3rd baseman, and track as a distance runner and high jumper. He graduated from Summitville High School in 1957. Throughout the 50s & 60s, Phil played for the AC Fastpitch Softball League as a shortstop and third baseman. He became a father in 1964 when his son, Brent was born. He married the love of his life, Carla Hensley in 1978, and his daughter, Crissy arrived in 1980. He coached baseball and basketball for both Summitville and Fairmount girls and boys leagues. Phil loved attending all types of athletic events, camping, fishing, classic country music, and vacationing with family and friends up North. Phil retired from Borg Warner Automotive in 2000 after 40 years of dedicated service. Phil enjoyed working maintenance for the Muncie Elks Golf course, going to the gym with his brother Garbo and old friends in Anderson and traveling north to fish. When he and his siblings were living, they could always be found at Frisch's restaurant on Broadway in Anderson on Friday mornings. In his later years, Phil can be remembered riding in his 1966 red Impala convertible and in his golf cart around Summitville and stopping to chat and laugh with friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Mable, siblings, Sgt. Robert F Vetor, Gerald Vetor, Francis (Lawrence) Levi; Walter (Annabelle) Vetor, Alexandria; Charlotte Vetor; Charles Max (Maxine) Vetor, Anderson; Ted (Laura) Vetor, Donald Rube (Barbara) Vetor, Garland Garbo (Rita) Vetor.

Surviving are his wife, Carla of 43 years; mother in law, Bonnie (Lewis) Hensley, Anderson; son, Brent Vetor, Summitville; daughter, Crissy (Justin) Suits, St. Cloud, MN; grandsons Tyler Vetor, Rushville; Jackson, Yogi, & Wilder Suits, St. Cloud, MN, and hundreds of nieces and nephews No services or burial will be held.
