HEMINGWAY - Frances Singleton Cockfield, 84, wife of the late Philip Pledger Cockfield, died Thursday, May 3, 2007, in a Florence hospital after an illness.
Mrs. Cockfield was born in Socastee, a daughter of the late Henry Benjamin and Emma Gussie Fullwood Singleton. She was a retired employee of Wellman Industries and was a member of Pamplico Church of God.
Surviving are five sons, Philip "P.J." (Sharon) Cockfield of Johnsonville, Lavern (Linda) Cockfield of Georgetown, Wiley Cockfield, Alfred (Sybil) Cockfield and Roy (Kathy) Cockfield, all of Hemingway; six daughters, Carolyn (Leonard) Isgett of Pamplico, Edna Earl (Pete) Lee of Coward, Marilyn (Marvin) Ard, Nancy Lyerly, Ruth Cockfield and Ila Mae Byrd, all of Hemingway; and a large number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, May 6, at Pamplico Church of God with interment following in Garden of Devotion Cemetery directed by Morris Funeral Home of Hemingway. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Pamplico Church of God.
