Evelyn Barnes, 91 of Franklin County, passed away on January 8, 2022 in Greensburg. She was born on September 5, 1930 in Richmond, KY to the late Lloyd and Florence (Issac) Baker. Evelyn married John Barnes on August 25, 1951 and he preceded her in death on May 6, 2017. She was a lifetime member of Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. Evelyn worked for Bonnell Aluminum over 33 years in Greensburg as a floor inspector. She was known for being a good mother and keeping her house spotless.
Evelyn is survived by her son, Mike John (Glenda Sue) Barnes of Rushville; brothers, Charles Forest Baker of Rush County and Jesse G. Baker of North Carolina; sister, Geneva Baker of Connersville. She will also be missed by her grandchildren, Sandy Barnes Cole, Jason Barnes, Samantha (Zach) Huff, great-grandchildren, Derrick Barnes, Rachel Barnes, John Barnes, Gregory Barnes, Lyndsay (Andrew) Resch and Wyland James; 2 great-great grandchildren, Jax and Nora.
Evelyn is preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Donald Wayne Barnes, brother, Lloyd Baker, Jr., sisters, Reba G. Baker and Betty D. Baker.
Services will be held on Friday, January 14, 2022 at 1 PM in Moster Mortuary with Mike Coyle presiding. Friends are welcome to visit the family from 11 AM until the time of service. Burial will be held in Hopewell Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in memory of Evelyn.
