"Grandpa Ed was a real outdoors man. He built canoes, traps and camped out a lot. And worked with the government on a timber project in 1940. My Dad, Robert, told this story many times over the years. You see Dad came home for a visit from Peoria, Ill to find that his dad had been buried on his birthday, 11/18. It was a shock no one had told him." Grandson, Bruce Wolfe.
It has taken all of us quite a while and many phones calls to family members and the Union Funeral Home (that's in charge of the cemetery now). The cemetery records back in the 1950's are almost gone and very scarce today. But several of the family members remembers Ed and Clara resting there with the cremated remains of their son, Larry and his wife in between them. Mike, from the funeral home believes because of the year, 1950, they are all in the older section of the cemetery.
