William B. Dunlap Sr.

William B. Dunlap Sr., 86, a resident of Mountain Laurel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Clearfield, and formerly of Morrisdale and Wallaceton, died Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2014, at the center.

Born Aug. 13, 1927, at Wallaceton, he was a son of Howard Charles and Grace Viola Gibboney Dunlap.

Mr. Dunlap was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having been stationed in Japan from 1945-
1947 as part of the occupation force at the close of World War II.

He was an MI marksman, and received the World War II Victory Medal and the Army of Occupation Ribbon.

Mr. Dunlap had been employed in the coal industry in both deep mining and surface mining operations for the majority of his working career.

On Feb. 10, 1949, he wed Patricia A. Dullen Dunlap.

He is survived by two daughters, Janet Bratton of Lewistown and Debbie Thompson of Morrisdale; three sons, William Dunlap Jr. of Lewistown, Andrew John Dunlap and his wife, Bobbi, and Clyde Dunlap and his wife, Dorothy, all of Philipsburg; 13 grandchildren, William, Craig and Patrick Dunlap, Ed Jr. ana Tammy Cambria, Robyn Hoy, Michael, Amanda and Adam Dunlap, Patricia (Nikki) Fye, Brittany Phillips, Rickey Jr. and Jessica Dunlap; ll great-grandchildren; a sister, Sadie Gallagher of Bowie, Md.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Dunlap was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, who died June 7, 1998; an infant daughter, Betty Lou; a son, Rick Alan Dunlap Sr.; a son-in-law, Douglas Thompson; five sisters and four brothers.

Funeral services and viewing will be private for the family.

Interment will be at Grandview Cemetery, Morrisdale.

Military honors will be accorded at the funeral home by the Moshannon Valley Independent Honor Guard.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
