Possibly the son of Margaret and Robert Armstrong and the brother of John Armstrong (Saint John Daily Telegraph, Mon 21 May 1877). Margaret b 1789 died in 1877 at Cregan near Stranorlar, County Donegal, Ireland. Robert b 1782 died 08 Sep 1885 Cregan near Stranorlar, County Donegal (Saint John Morning News, Mon 15 Oct 1855). Another possible brother is Robert Armstrong, 1812-1860, described as a native of Cregan in his death notice, and Samuel Armstrong, 1829-1929, who appears to be Robert's brother.

Aaron immigrated to New Brunswick 1840 per 1851 Canada Census.

NB Courier, Sat 10 Sep 1853: "m. 6th inst., by Rev. James G. Hennigar, at house of bride's father Golden Grove (St. John), Aaron ARMSTRONG of this city / Sarah HASTINGS second d/o Aaron HASTINGS." - Source: Daniel F Johnson's New Brunswick Newspaper Vital Statistics. If Aaron and Robert Armstrong were brothers, then Aaron married his brother's sister-in-law.

Residence at time of death = 79 Hazen Street. Died of broncho-pneumonia.
