Quite likely the son of Robert Armstrong b 1782, d 08 Sep 1885 "Cregan near Stranorbar", County Donegal (Saint John Morning News, Mon 15 Oct 1855), and Margaret Armstrong b 1789, d 1877 "Cregan near Stranolar", County Donegal (Saint John Daily Telegraph, Mon 21 May 1877). Therefore also the brother of Aaron Armstrong, 1819-1903.
Samuel Armstrong, 1829-1929, may also be Robert's brother. He's described on his death certificate as being born in Ireland and being the son of Margaret Hastings and Robert Armstrong - who were married in NB in 1842. More likely he's the son of the Margaret and Robert Armstrong who were also the parents of Robert, Aaron and John.
